4, 8 and 16 Channel Controllers The RIG RAT II stainless steel controllers are designed as the communication center for the wireless RIG RAT II gas detection systems. Detectors transmit a discretely coded radio signal to the controller advising you of a gas (or wind) or integrity alarm condition. The independent control channel activates a visual LED alarm, as well as, remote discrete or general alarms and field interfaces. The Controllers are powered by 110 VAC (standard), 220 VAC (specify) or 24 VDC (optional). The controller has battery back-up in the event of a power failure. The enclosures are 16 gauge stainless steel with built-in mounting flanges. You simply mount them to the wall and supply power. Eliminate Signal and Power Lines: Signals are transmitted via coded radio channels, the Controller is line powered. Multi-point System: Multi-point systems can be expanded to 1000 individual monitoring points with each Detector coded to a separate discrete controller channel. Larger systems use more than one controller. Independent Channels: Each independent channel is equipped with an enable/disable switch to control external alarms and field interfaces. Each channel has two large color-coded LEDs. The alarm LED flashes and cannot be reset or disabled while an alarm condition exists. The other LED advises if the channel is ON or disabled. |

Secondary Control Stations: To enhance your information system on larger sites, you can add local area Controllers and monitor the same detection point at both a Central Control Station, and a Local Area Control Station. Simply code the radio dipswitches to match the detectors. Provide the optimum and most versatile system to protect your work-site and personnel. Control Interfaces: Plug-in ports provide discrete and zoned channel signal and 12 volt power outputs to controls, remote alarms, relays, etc. User Friendly: The RIG RAT II Controller's large LEDs provide information at a glance. There are no complicated procedures to acquire individual channel condition. The ON power key lock switch provide system security. Data Acquisition: Download alarm data into your central computer system to integrate information systems. Wireless Monitoring: The Controllers continuously monitor alarm levels by receiving coded radio transmissions from the Detectors. Each signal is coded on a different radio channel. The radio codes can easily be reset to meet any field re-configurations. Battery Back-up: The 4, 8, and 16 channel Controllers are equipped with two internal batteries to provide power in the event of a power failure. The backup batteries will recharge automatically once the power has been restored. Battery life is as follows: No alarm - 48 hours Constant alarm - 10 hours Security ON/OFF Key Lock Switch: A two-position key lock ON/OFF switch provides a secure, control station. The key can be removed in the ON and OFF position. UHF Antenna Port: A wide variety of UHF antennas and extension cables provide optimum reception on the site. |

Individual Channel Control Switches: Enable/Disable switches provide individual channel control. The switches turn off the channel’s output to the option ports, "disabling" external devices during testing, calibration or an alarm condition if desired. A channel may be enabled and disabled during both alarm and non-alarm conditions. Enable/Disable LED Indicator: The channel's high-visibility color-coded LED enable/disable indicator will light yellow if a channel is disabled. Green is channel “ON". Latching LED Alarm Channel Indicator: When an alarm condition is detected, the affected channel's high-visibility color-coded LED will flash red until the alarm is acknowledged by pressing the reset button. Reset Button: The momentary push-button reset switch turns off the latching visual and audible alarms. The alarms cannot be reset if an alarm condition is still present. Test Button: The push-button test switch tests controller alarms and external devices. When the button is pressed, the red LED's on the control panel will flash. Any external alarms or controls connected to the option ports can also be tested. LED Power Indicator: The LED will be lit green when the Controller is operated by a 110 VAC or 220 VAC source. If the AC power is interrupted it will change from green to red to indicate battery back-up (DC) operation. On a Controller powered continuously by a 24 VDC source, the power LED will be red. Option Ports: The option ports accept a variety of external visual/audible alarms and relays to interface with telemetry systems, emergency shut-down systems, exhaust fans, etc. Discrete Port - All Controllers: Each 12-volt outlet is dedicated to one channel of the controller, allowing the user to configure external hookups to specific requirements. Zoned Port - 8 and 16 Channel Controllers: The 12-volt outlet provides a zoning control of different channels. Local Audible Alarm: The 85 dB audible alarm gives a warning when an alarm condition is met on any channel. Maintenance: Rig Rat II Controllers require no maintenance. All option ports have protective caps to ensure their integrity when not in use. Fuses protect the circuitry. Power Options: Power input can be set to either 115 VAC or 220 VAC (specify when ordering). 24 VDC is optional. Controllers have 12 VDC battery back-up.
