Direct Connect Series Gas Sensors - LEL, H2, O2, CO, & H2S use with Beacon Series Controllers
The
direct connect series gas sensors are highly reliable and very cost effective
for the detection of common gas hazards. The direct connect series are available
for LEL, H2 Specific LEL, Oxygen, H2S, and CO for the Beacon 110, 200, 400 &
800
controllers. All sensors are explosion-proof with flame arrestors, and approved.
The direct connect sensors can be used in two different ways. The sensors can be
mounted directly to the controllers as a complete stand alone system, or they
can be mounted to explosion proof junction boxes for remote detection. The flame
arrestors for the explosion-proof versions utilize a patented coating which make
them water repellent. Also, splash guards are available for use in very wet
environments. All of the direct connect sensors are designed to specifically
interface with the Beacon 110, Beacon 200, Beacon 400 & Beacon 800 controllers.
S Series Sensor - 4-20 mA LEL (catalytic), LEL (IR) HC, O2, H2S, CO, or CO2 (IR)
The
S series gas sensor/transmitters are highly reliable and cost effective basic
4-20 mA transmitters for the detection of common gas hazards. The electronics
are encased inside a potted package to avoid damage from mechanical abuse or
corrosion, and this assembly is installed inside an explosion-proof enclosure.
All sensors are explosion-proof with flame arrestors and approved for use in
hazardous atmospheres. Field calibration can be performed easily and quickly by
one person. The flame arrestors utilize a patented coating which make them
water repellent, and splash guards are also available for use in very wet
environments. The transmitter operates from 24 VDC (11VDC to 30 VDC), and
provides a 4-20mA signal which can be connected to a wide variety of
controllers.
M2 - Stand Alone Explosion Proof Transmitter 4-20 mA & Digital Modbus LEL (catalytic, LEL (IR), O2, H2S, or CO
The
M2 is a state-of-the-art transmitter that can operate as an independent,
stand-alone system or as part of a system connected with an analog or digital
signal to virtually any controller, PLC, or DCS. It utilizes a magnetic wand
technique for performing non-intrusive calibration. The M2 provides an automatic
zero drift correction feature, which results in more stable readings and reduces
the need for adjustments due to sensor aging. The M2 housing does not need to be
opened for zeroing or calibration, making it unnecessary to declassify the area
for routine maintenance. It is designed so that a complete field calibration can
be performed by one person. The stainless steel flame arrestor that covers the
sensor is water repellent with a special patented water resistant coating. The
M2 provides a 4-20 mA output in addition to a Modbus digital output. It also has
two levels of alarm with relays, plus a fail alarm with a relay. A digital
display of the gas concentration, as well as alarm and status lights can be
viewed through the front window. The M2 represents the latest leading edge
technology in sensor / transmitters today.
Hydrogen Specific - 4-20 mA 0-2000ppm (solid state sensor), or 0-100% LEL
The
H2 specific sensor/transmitter offers unique proprietary sensor technologies for
hydrogen specific detection in either the % LEL or PPM ranges. By utilizing a
proprietary molecular sieve coating that is built into both our catalytic or
solid state sensors, false alarms from typical hydrocarbon interfering gases are
essentially eliminated. For the LEL range, a special catalytic sensor is coated
with a molecular sieve that eliminates the response to common background gases
like IPA, methane, gasoline, etc. while providing a detection range of 0 –
100% LEL for hydrogen. The hydrogen PPM sensor can reliably detect leaks 20
times smaller than a standard catalytic sensor. This solid state sensor has a
molecular sieve coating on the sensing element, which filters out interference
from other gases and provides a 0 – 2,000 PPM range. Both the LEL and PPM
range sensors are available with 24 VDC transmitters with linear 4-20 mA
outputs.

GasPoint - H2S, CO, or Combustibles Gas Transmitter with Internal Alarm Relays
The
rugged GasPoint transmitter provides a 4-20 mA output signal which can be
connected to any control system (DCS, PLC etc.). With advanced sensor technology
and microcontroller based operation, the GasPoint can be used as a stand alone
unit and recognize the type of sensor installed. Three 5 amp relays
contracts and normally energized / de-energized and latching / non-latching
alarm relay functions are standard. Modbus output is also available.

The
Beacon 200 is a powerful, low cost fixed system controller for two points of gas
detection. It is microprocessor controlled, versatile, simple to install and
operate, and priced to be the industry’s most economical two point controller.
The Beacon 200 can also accept any 4-20 mA transmitter (2 or 3 wire, 24 VDC).
Sensors can be mounted directly at the Beacon 200 housing, or can be wired
remotely from the controller. The 10 amp rated relays are strong enough to
actuate most external alarms and horns without using slave relays. The
Beacon 200’s housing is rated NEMA 4X for corrosion resistance and a weather
tight seal, and complies with lock out / tag out standards. An external reset
switch allows the alarm to be silenced from outside of the controller
housing.
